iButton introduction |
iButton is short for information button. iButton is similar to the microchip which used in the smart card, but the microchip was placed on the size of 17.35*3.1 ~ 5.89mm (different functions, different sizes) of a circular stainless steel button.
iButton was invented and exclusive production by Dallas Semiconductor,it is the major equipment and facilities for working in the harsh environment.
iButton is packing in a 16mm thick stainless steel shell. Because of its unique and durable shell, the latest information can be carried with a person or object to anywhere. In fact, steel iButton is rugged enough to withstand a variety of indoor or outdoor harsh environments, so the iButton can be almost installed anywhere. iButton is very compact and lightweight, can be attached to key chains, rings, watch, or other personal items, such as buildings and computers, asset management, and various data logging access is ideal for control in the daily life. |
iButton Composition |
1. Shell and Grommet iButton with its stainless steel "shell" as an electronic communication interface, each shell has a data contact, referred to as a "cover", as well as a ground contact, known as the "bottom of the box". These contacts are connected to the internal silicon. The lid is the top of the housing; the bottom of the box by the edges and bottom of the shell, including an easy button flange attached to any other object. 2. 1-Wire interface only iButton with the two interfaces touch, it can be 1-Wire ® protocol to communicate with. 1-Wire interface has two communication rate: standard mode, 16kbps, 142kbps in Overdrive Mode.
3. Address each iButton chip inside has a laser engraved into the unique address can not be changed. The address (such as 2700000095C33108) can be used as a key or identifier for each iButton. |
